A bit of history about Jews and Rajas of Cochin
Kerala and Jews is a 21 page book written in 1980s.
Here are some snippets from the book that details the relationships between Jews of Cochin and Raja of Cochin.
Thier relationship was even quoted for resettling Jews in England.
And, some early Portuguese travellers called Raja of Cochin as King of Jews.
When the Raja of Cochin made the Jews to settle right next to his palace, one European traveller mentioned the liberal thoughts of the Raja.

A Golden Day in Indian History
July 29th 1946 - The forgotten GOLDEN DAY IN INDIAN HISTORY
Why did we fail to remember this glorious day, when India is celebrating 75 years of independence?
On this day, in 1946, when all other princely states of India were either contemplating independence or unsure of thier future, the then Maharaja of Cochin, Kerala Varma, famously known as Ikyakeralam Thampuran, made his Trichur proclamation, thus becoming the FIRST PRINCELY STATE in British India to proclaim that they will join Indian Union if British leaves India.
Travancore called this proclamation "suicidal".
