The images below are from a Malayalam article written by Mrs. ANITA MOHANDAS, wife of former Kerala Chief Secretary Mr. MOHANDAS PALAT, IAS.
This article was published in the January 2023 issue of HINDU VISHWA, the magazine of VISHWA HINDU PARISHAD, an organisation founded under the leadership of the respected SWAMI CHINMAYANANDA.
In this article, Mrs. Anita Mohandas has written a story that rivals a movie plot.

A thief’s fake history!
Whether Mrs. Anita wrote this article knowingly or unknowingly, and whether the Vishwa Hindu Parishad published it knowingly or unknowingly, this article has the potential to mislead Hindus with a fake narrative.
I thought anyone with even a basic understanding on Kerala culture and tradition would realise that the person - Palakkad Kavippad Pulikkal Shankarodath Manoj G Nair alias Brahmsree Dr. Manavendra Sharma Vellattiri alias Manavendra Varma Yogathirippad alias Ambotti Thampuran - is a fraud, as he has names of unrelated castes and titles.
I have personally shared all the details and evidence directly with Mrs. Anita Mohandas and the President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad of Kerala. I have proof of this, and I have shared much of the valid evidence on Facebook in both English and Malayalam.

| WhatsApp Message reply from Mrs. Anita Mohandas |
When I shared evidence (see above) with Mrs. Anita Mohandas, this is the reply I got from her in WhatsApp - "Whatever you say could be true. But, I know that whatever Ambotti says is true too."
How could 2 opposite arguments be true at the same time? I will leave the analysis of this to the readers themselves after reading the below.
So far, there has been no correction from either. The fraudster has not denied any of this as nonsense. So,
- What should we infer from this?
- Doesn’t this mean they stand by their claims?
- So, isn’t it fair to say that Mrs. Anita and "Hindu Vishwa" magazine are complicit in deceiving Hindus?
I will leave to the reader to answer the above questions themselves based on my replies to her article below. Poor Hindus are still falling into the trap of this fraudster.
What is fake in the article published in the "Hindu Vishwa" magazine and the evidence for that are detailed below, please read on.
Mrs. Anita Mohandas’s propaganda could even outdo what Pakistan has done after May 2025 India attacks, or else we have to say that she herself has been thoroughly deceived by the fraudster.
May Lord Poornatrayeesha and Pazhayannur Bhagavathy protect everyone! 🙏
>> Both the Kovilakam (royal house) and the Ambotti Thampuran there are being projected as the epitome of a historical revival. (Translation from Malayalam, from 1st Page)
= In the history of Kerala, there is no name, character, person, or family called "Ambotti Thampuran". This is not a model of historical revival, but rather a third-rate fabrication and a concocted story. It is sad that the wife of a former Chief Secretary is supporting this.
>> Through the old records of a dilapidated Kovilakam, which had fallen into poverty and ruin, the current glory of the place is attributed to the dedicated efforts and penance of Manavendra Varma Yogathirippad, who holds the title of Ambotti Thampuran. (Translation from Malayalam, from 1st Page)
=
- Anyone who has studied Kerala history can recognize that Mrs. Anita is writing blatant lies. There is not a shred of evidence for any of this dilapidated Kovilakam or the title of Ambotti Thampuran.
- Likewise, there has never been a Kshatriya (Varma) Yogathirippad in Kerala history. This is complete fabrication.
- One has to wonder whether Mrs. Anita is ignorant of history or is complicit in this deception.
- One thing is certain—the fraudster has created a new history through supposed penance and effort, to deceive ordinary people.
- There was NO Kovilakom itself to be dilapidated. They only built the house in 2007. Below is a copy the invitation and here is link to a Facebook Post with Google Earth photos with evidence. The perpetuator of these lies, at the time did not know that there would be digital evidences later.
| The second page of article in Malayalam |
>> The ancestral history of Shankarodath Kovilakam begins with a flight from Vettathu-nadu in 1793. Narayaniyambika Thampuratti and her ten-year-old daughter, forced to flee with their idols and images, arrived at this place with the help of Kurichya warriors, and were given shelter by the Velluthedathu family. (Translation from Malayalam, from 1st and 2nd Page)
=
- Historian and researcher Mr. Tirur Dinesh has explained in detail about the Vettath royal family and the fraudster’s fabricated history in this audio message shared via youtube. It is clear that the fraudster created this story after reading his book on Vettath Nadu.
- The story of being rescued by Kurichyas is straight from the history of Pazhassi Raja—after Kerala Simham Sri Pazhassi Raja died, it was the Kurichyas who rescued his wife, according to history, and that too by boat.
- After the last Vettath Raja died in 1793, there was no need for anyone to flee. This is pure fake history, created to deceive ordinary Hindus.
- There was no "Shankarodath" up until 2017 or so. which is very clearly visible in the below pamphlet published by Manoj himself some time in 2010s. You can read more on how his ideas evolved over the years through this Facebook post.
>> The mother and daughter, who were a branch of the Vettath royal family, lived here disguised as ordinary people because the area was under the Zamorin’s control. (Translation from Malayalam, from 1st and 2nd Page)
=
- All history books (including History of Kerala and Malabar Manual) say that the Vettath royal family, or Tanur Swarupam, had only one branch.
- There was a Kovilakam at Thriprangode, but it was not a separate branch. Where did the fraudster get this history from?
- After 1793, Palakkad was not under the Zamorin, it was part of British Malabar. The Zamorin did not have to fight anyone after that, according to history. He only managed temples.
- So is this another mistake by Mrs. Anita, or is she also complicit in deceiving ordinary people?
>> The daughter got married, but died when her child was four and a half years old. The child grew up with her grandmother, who had fled with her. This granddaughter is the grandmother of today’s Ambotti Thampuran Yogathirippad. (Translation from Malayalam, from 2nd Page)
=
- If the ten-year-old girl in 1793 gave birth at age 40, that would be 1823.
- If her daughter gave birth at 40, that would be 1863.
- So when was the fraudster’s grandmother born?
- If both gave birth at 50, the fraudster’s grandmother, who died in 2019 at age 89, would have made it into the Guinness Book of World Records. Anyway, it is said in the newspaper that she died at 89.
- Let the readers decide.
- The images below shows that the name Shankarodath did not exist in 2009 and his grandmother was 80 years of age in the year 2009 (next image). That means she was born around 1929. That means her mother would have been about 60 years when she was given birth.
- In short, either Mrs. Anita Mohandas lacks mathematics and common sense, or she is complicit in deceiving ordinary Hindus.

>> The grandmother took out the idols and rare tantric manuscripts she had brought, and later Calicut University verified the authenticity of these palm-leaf manuscripts. Among the idols brought were those used in the Mamankam festival. (Translation from Malayalam, from 3rd Page)
=
- Where are these tantric manuscripts now?
- Which are those poison-treatment books? If they exist, they should be given for research.
- As for Calicut University, many newly written and forged manuscripts are easily available. We have seen such a palm leaf about Sabarimala too...
- Historian Tirur Dinesh has clarified the Mamankam issue in his audio. Please listen to it.
- So, is this another mistake by Mrs. Anita, or is she also complicit in deceiving ordinary people?
>> In 2005-06, the original owners of the land, the Velluthedathu family, decided to sell it and began removing the temple and idols. At that time, a grandmother from the family found an old will stating that the western part of the land belonged to the Thampuratti and children who came from Vettathunadu. She gave up some land and returned the idols. With no place or wealth to install the idols, the grandmother placed them under a tamarind tree on the north side of the Kovilakam. Later, a termite mound grew there, which was destroyed in heavy rain in 2007, revealing it to be a self-manifested naga deity. (Translation from Malayalam, from 3rd Page)
=
- This story beats a movie plot. It takes at least five years for a termite mound to form. The will story is fabricated, or else it was written later. The fraudster himself is the Velluthedathu family. Otherwise, where is that family now?
- The fraudster won’t show any proof, because there’s no evidence for a made-up story!
- And if a termite mound collapses and idols are found, does that make it a self-manifested deity?
- So, is this another mistake by Mrs. Anita, or is she also complicit in deceiving ordinary people?
=
- In photos of the fraudster at 21-22 years old, he is not wearing the sacred thread.
- Maybe, like in a Balachandra Menon movie, he only wears it during rituals and keeps it in his pocket otherwise.
- Please refer to the photos below of Manoj when he was aat least 20 years, without a Poonool (Sacred Thread).
- Or maybe the photo is from before age 13. Maybe he looks older because he’s a prodigy, or maybe he’s a special reincarnation or even has some deficiency where in he has so much body hair growth at such a young age.
- Even after seeing this evidence, does Mrs. Anita not realize her mistake, or is she also complicit in deceiving ordinary people?
>> “Ambotti” means “one who feeds the ego.” This is the title given to those who dedicate their lives to rituals and take up strict spiritual practices. (Translation from Malayalam, from 4th Page)
=
- Where is this mentioned? In which text?
- Where in Indian history is this? Which text?
- Where is the proof of this?
- Isn’t there a limit to making things up?
>> After the sacred thread ceremony, a year of seclusion must be observed, followed by seven years as a renunciant, and then four years of fire worship, after which the final ceremony is performed. (Translation from Malayalam, from 4th Page)
=
- The fraudster’s sacred thread ceremony was conducted by a Tamil Brahmin priest in Kalpathy in 2013, which is proven.
- If he did all these initiations after that, the final ceremony would only be possible after 2025. That’s a lie.
- There is proof, with photos, that the sacred thread ceremony was at age 23.
- So, is this another mistake by Mrs. Anita, or is she also complicit in deceiving ordinary people?
>> Thus, he becomes Yogathirippad, a title akin to Brahmarishi Vishwamitra. All the traditional office-bearers must attend the final ceremony. The special dress and symbols are described. (Translation from Malayalam, from 4th Page)
=
- This sounds like the stories children make up when playing king and minister.
- The fraudster has deceived many priests and others in Kerala with his fantasy.
- Even Cherumukku, Panavur, Amedamangalam, Suryakaladi, etc. were fooled.
- Many of them later realized the truth.
- Where are special dress and symbols for a Yogathirippad described? Which Text?
- But Mrs. Anita still hasn’t, or maybe she is now complicit in this scam?

FOOTNOTE TO MRS ANITA MOHANDAS
I have recently learned that representatives from your brother’s company, Ajit Associates (Silver Sand Island, Cochin), visited my ancestral home seeking my residential address in Australia. As you already have my contact number, I respectfully request that you contact me directly by telephone if you wish to discuss any matters related to this issue. I would appreciate it if you could avoid involving third parties.
Throughout this matter, I have based my statements on verifiable evidence, unlike Mr. Manoj, whose narrative lacks historical documentation and contradicts the cultural and traditional fabric of Kerala. I shared some of these concerns with you about ten months ago. Despite this evidence being publicly available, Mr. Manoj has not responded. His continued silence suggests an unwillingness to engage with historical facts, likely because any attempt to defend his narrative could be easily challenged and disproven with documented evidence.
As a result, many rational and informed individuals have concluded that the story of "Ambotti Thampuran" is a fabrication and recognize the potential harm in spreading such narratives under the guise of cultural or religious significance. For example, the Sarpa Yagnam he conducted in September 2024 has been widely regarded by knowledgeable people as ritualistically inaccurate and misleading.
I have presented all relevant facts and sources. It is now up to Mr. Manoj to respond publicly with credible evidence to support his claims. If he does not, doubts about his credibility will persist. Anyone who chooses to support him without demanding such evidence may also have their motivations questioned.
My sole purpose of publishing this blog in Malayalam and English is to make sure that pious Hindus are not fooled or cheated.
I want to clarify that I have never engaged in any actions that could be construed as defamatory towards you. My sole intention has been to seek clarification regarding the authenticity of your article published in Hindu Vishwa magazine. If you or the individual featured in your article can provide evidence supporting your claims, I would appreciate it. If not, I respectfully suggest making a public statement clarifying that the individual known as Manavendra Varman Yogathirippad (also referred to as Manavendra Sarman Vellattiri or Ambotti Thampuran) is not genuine, and that the details in the article are fabricated. If you do so, I will promptly withdraw my blog and Facebook posts mentioning you and publicly acknowledge your honesty.
Over the past ten months, I have shared evidence with you multiple times but have not received a response. I understand you are now considering legal action following my recent blog post. If you proceed, please note that I will request the individual featured in your article to present evidence in court, after you establish your claim of defamation.
If you need further information or wish to discuss this matter, please contact me directly by phone or WhatsApp. Finally, I want to reiterate my respect for you, as I have before, in recognition of the longstanding relationship between our families.
Thank you!
