2009ൽ ഒരു ബംഗാളി സുഹൃത്തിനൊപ്പം നടത്തിയ ഒരു സംഭാഷണത്തിനു പിറ്റേ ദിവസം അദ്ദേഹം എനിക്ക് വായിക്കാൻ തന്ന പുസ്തകം ആണ് Bhabani Bhattacharya 1955ൽ എഴുതിയ "HE WHO RIDES A TIGER" (Jaico Publishing House). സാധാരണ ചരിത്ര, ആത്മകഥ പുസ്തകങ്ങൾ മാത്രം വായിക്കുന്ന എനിക്ക് ഈ നോവൽ വായിക്കാൻ താല്പര്യം ഉണ്ടായില്ല. പക്ഷെ സുഹൃത്തിന്റെ നിർബന്ധം കൂടിയപ്പോൾ വായിക്കേണ്ടി വന്നു. വായിച്ചു, ഒരു വിപ്ലവ നോവൽ, അന്ന് അതിൽ കൂടുതൽ ഒന്നും തോന്നിയില്ല.

ഈ കഥ പാലക്കാട് കാവിൽപ്പാട് തെക്കുംപ്പുറം വെളുത്തേടത്ത് വീട്ടിൽ ശങ്കർ നിവാസിൽ മനോജ് ജി നായർ എന്ന പുളിക്കൽ ശങ്കരോടത്ത് കോവിലകം His Highness His Holiness VAZHUNNOR ബ്രഹ്മശ്രീ Dr. MANAVENDRA VARMAN YOGATHIRIPPAD alias MANAVENDRA SHARMAN VELLATTIRI G എന്ന അമ്പോറ്റി തമ്പുരാൻ എന്ന വ്യാജന്റെ ജീവിതവും ആയി മൂല ബിന്ദുവിൽ സാമ്യം ഉണ്ട്. Context വേറെ ആണെങ്കിലും വ്യാജന്റെ ജീവിതവും ആയി ഇതിന് ബന്ധം ഉണ്ട്.

പേര് മാറ്റങ്ങളുടെ പരമ്പര - എന്തിന്?


"വാഴുന്നോർ", "വെള്ളാട്ടിരി" (വള്ളുവ കോന്നാതിരി), "വെട്ടത്ത് രാജാവ്", "യോഗാതിരിപ്പാട്", "പനയന്നൂർക്കാവ് നമ്പി", "പുളിക്കൽ ചെമ്പകശ്ശേരി", ആയ് രാജവംശാംഗം ഒക്കെ ആയി ഒരാൾ ഉണ്ട് എന്നും, അത് ചരിത്രപരമായി ഒരിക്കലും സംഭവിക്കില്ല "എന്ന വിവരം" ബോധ്യം ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ട് കഴിഞ്ഞകൊല്ലം ഒരു audio message അയച്ചപ്പോഴും ഈ നോവലും ആയി ബന്ധം ഒന്നും മനസ്സിൽ തോന്നിയില്ല. ആ "ബോധ്യം" ബഹുമാനപ്പെട്ട ചെറുമുക്ക് വൈദികനും, ബഹുമാനപ്പെട്ട പാനാവൂർ തന്ത്രിക്കും, ബഹുമനപ്പെട്ട കോതാങ്ങലത്ത് ഓതിക്കനും, യോഗക്ഷേമസഭ, ക്ഷത്രിയ ക്ഷേമ സഭയും മറ്റു പല പ്രമുഖ ഹിന്ദുക്കൾക്കും അറിയില്ല എന്ന് ആലോചിക്കുമ്പോൾ "കഷ്ടം" എന്നു തന്നെ തോന്നി.

എനിക്ക് അപ്പോഴും മനസ്സിലായില്ല എന്തിനാണ് വ്യാജൻ മനോജ് ഇത്രേം പേരുകൾ മാറ്റാനും, ഒരു അർഹതയും ഇല്ലാത്ത വെള്ളാട്ടിരി (വള്ളുവ കൊന്നാതിരി), വാഴുന്നോർ, വെട്ടത്ത് രാജാവ്, യോഗാതിരിപ്പാട് എന്ന പദവികൾ തനിക്ക് തന്നെ നൽകാൻ ഉണ്ടായ ആ മാനസികാവസ്ഥ.

തട്ടിപ്പ് മാത്രമാണ് ഉദ്ദേശം എന്നാണ് കരുതിയത്.

പക്ഷെ, രണ്ടുമൂന്ന് audio message viral ആയപ്പോൾ എന്നെ പലരും (അയാളുടെ ബന്ധുക്കളും, മുൻ ഭക്തരും, സ്കൂൾ കുട്ടിക്കാല കൂട്ടുകാരും, മുൻ ശിഷ്യരും ഒക്കെ) ഈ വ്യാജന്റെ ചരിത്രം പറയാൻ തുടങ്ങി, WhatsApp messages, calls വഴി.

അതിൽ പുറത്തുപറയാൻ പറ്റുന്നതൊക്കേയും, അസഭ്യം അല്ല എന്ന് എനിക്ക് തോന്നിയതും പലപ്പോഴായി ഞാൻ പങ്കവച്ചിട്ടും ഉണ്ട്.

കുറച്ച് ആഴ്ചകൾ കഴിഞ്ഞാണ് എനിക്ക് ഞാൻ 2009ൽ വായിച്ച "HE WHO RIDES A TIGER" ഓർമ്മ വന്നത്.

Open Letter to the BJP Leadership in Palakkad: A Call for Transparency and Accountability

To the Chairperson of Palakkad Municipality and the BJP Leadership,

Palakkad is one of the few local bodies in Kerala governed by the Bharatiya Janata Party — a party that has long claimed to stand for integrity, dharma, and the protection of Hindu interests. It is therefore deeply concerning to see the rising perception that a democratically elected BJP Chairperson in Palakkad is continuing to associate with an individual whose background and activities appear, at best, questionable and, at worst, fraudulent.

I write this as an independent, apolitical person with friends across all political affiliations. My concern is not rooted in politics, but in truth and public accountability.

The individual in question — who has presented himself under several different names including Brahmasree Ambotti Thampuran, Manavendra Sarman Vellattiri G, and Manavendra Varman Yogathirippad — has been the subject of growing scrutiny from many within the community. Multiple inconsistencies in his claims, titles, and historical assertions raise serious doubts about his authenticity and intentions.

Given that I personally conveyed these credible concerns to the family of the Chairperson, it is hard to believe this information has not reached her. If it has not, that speaks to a failure in communication. If it has — then the continuing association raises legitimate questions about the standards of diligence expected from an elected representative.

As a public official representing the people of Palakkad, and as a leader within a politicalparty, the Chairperson owes the public a clear explanation. By sharing public platforms and events with someone whose credibility is under question, she risks lending the weight of her office — and that of her party — to a cause or individual that may be misleading innocent people.

I therefore urge the Chairperson, and any BJP office-bearer connected to this individual, to publicly clarify their position on the following key questions:

1. What motivated Manoj G. Nair to repeatedly change his identity — first to Manavendra Sarman Vellattiri and later to Manavendra Varman Yogathirippad?

2. What is the historical or genealogical basis for combining the Brahmin surname Sarma with the title Vellattiri?

3. Likewise, how can a Yogathirippad use a Kshatriya surname like Varma — and is there any authentic reference for this?

4. On what grounds has Vellattiri became Vettath Raja? Are there any reliable historical sources supporting this change?

5. Where, in any recognized historical record, is Ambotti Thampuran title mentioned or identified?

6. What was the true nature and purpose of the event described as the “Maha Sarpa Yagnam”, inaugurated by the Chairperson? Do our scriptures support the interpretations and actions carried out there?

7. Finally, what was the symbolic meaning of the ritual acts performed, such as the pouring of water — and were these in line with traditional Vedic practices, or designed to dramatize a narrative?

These questions are not political attacks — they are calls for truth and clarity. If there are factual, evidence-based answers to them, I will readily and publicly accept correction and apologise. But until those answers are presented transparently, the perception of complicity and endorsement will remain.

The people of Palakkad deserve leaders who exercise discernment, uphold honesty, and protect the sanctity of faith from exploitation. Public office is not a stage for deception or self-promotion — it is a position of sacred responsibility.

I sincerely hope the BJP leadership in Palakkad will take a clear stand, investigate these concerns, and demonstrate that the party’s commitment to integrity is more than a slogan. Truth must prevail over theatrics.

Saga of Ambotti Thampuran. Really?

If a proven fraud or an Impostor starts a religious place of worship, would you go there?

If a proven fraud or an Impostor claims to be a saint, would you be their disciple or follower?
Well, I won't because I know their intentions are not good. 

Please share this post if you think you have seen or know any fraud or imposter who has started a religious place of worship or has become Godmen. 

But there are common people who, even after presented with credible evidence, follow these fake Godmen and go to the temples they have built. 

These fakes are just after money of common people. 

These Godmen market themselves to be unique, make themselves visually appealing, perform rituals that makes no sense and talk or do things that common people, who do not have a clue on religious practices, blindly believes.

They also market their temples to bring in more revenue, which in turn will increase their income, even if a Trust runs these temples.

These common people get attracted to these frauds and start pumping money to temples which makes no sense and performed in a visually appealing, but ritualistically wrong way.

Not only that, these Godmen bring well known personalities, priests and artists to perform in their temple and pay them the money they cheat from Common People.

These well known people, like Paanaavoor Thantri, Cherumukku Vaidikan, Kothamangalam Othikkan etc., have no regret in taking the so-earned money from these imposters. 

With what these Godmen do, FOOLS BELIEVE in them and they will make the SCHOLARS to be in doubt as well.

In addition to this, non-Keralites are targeted for this mainly as they the traditions followed in Kerala is different from other parts of India and has created an aura among non-Malayalees. So, they are an easy target. 
 


Recently, I had a chat with someone who follows the so called Ambotti Thampuran or the Manavendra Varma Yogathirippad, the well known cheat and imposter.  Here is a summary (generated using AI) of the conversation I had with that person. 

From the details we can say - Either that person is "Blind with Devotion" or "party to the heist". It seems the latter is more appropriate based on the person's involvement with the fraud recently, helping that person reach out to cheat unassuming people outside Kerala and even taking part in an event to translate the imposter's fake preachings. 

FYI - This person wanted to have the above conversation with me about the fraud Ambotti Thampuran, not me.
